Scoville-Meno collects food for local pantries

OWEGO, N.Y. - A local car dealer is helping to feed hungry kids this summer.

The Scoville-Meno family of dealerships, with locations in Owego, Oneonta, Sidney, and Bainbridge, has been holding a summer food drive since July 4th.

Each Scoville-Meno location has been collecting and delivering the donations to four pantries in the area.

Customers can stop in at any of the four locations to drop off non-perishable food items.

President and Owner Stephen Scoville says there's no reason a child should go hungry.
“If you can't help children, who can you help? They're the most needy.  It was an easy decision for us.  Our employees have jumped in and brought in a lot of food.  It's a great thing to do for the community,” said Scoville.

Scoville-Meno will also donate $25 to the food pantries for every car that's sold in August, and anyone who donates food gets a free car wash.

Scoville says around 150 pounds of food have been donated at each location.
Donations will be collected until Labor Day.
