Rumble Ponies, A Room to Heal team up to help Binghamton teen battling cancer

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - A Binghamton teen battling cancer has received a new bedroom from the Rumble Ponies.

14-year old Damin Titus was recently diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

The Rumble Ponies teamed up with A Room to Heal, a non-profit that creates healing spaces for kids affected by serious medical conditions.

Titus is a Binghamton Modified baseball, basketball and football player.

The new space includes a stocked mini-fridge, an autographed Rumble Ponies sign, framed New York Knicks Carmelo Anthony and Yankees Catcher Gary Sanchez jerseys along with video game chairs with bluetooth speakers and headphones.

Titus says he was shocked when he saw his new room.

"It was so great to find out what it was. I was excited to just get the room in general and thankful for everyone who helped with it. It's so much nicer than I was expecting," he said.

Titus' modified baseball teammates were also there to help reveal the room.

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies couldn't make it to the reveal because they were preparing for last night's game, but Titus was invited to throw out the first pitch.

Rumble Ponies Owner John Hughes says he was concerned about the Sanchez Yankees jersey in the room, but was relieved when Titus told him the Ponies are his number one minor league team.
