Restaurant Week at Galaxy Brewing Co.

Restaurant Week has gotten off to a busy start at one of downtown Binghamton's newest eateries.

Galaxy Brewing Company on Court St. has been enjoying larger than average crowds.

Dinner entrees include a coriander-crusted mahi-mahi, beef tenderloin medallions and a vegetarian farfalle pasta with mushrooms and asparagus. And each prix fixe meal comes with a 10 ounce glass of one of Galaxy's 12 craft beers that are brewed on site.

Mike Weisel and his son Seth opened the business last Summer.

"Downtown is changing. Restaurant Week is a good way to bring people downtown to see how downtown is in fact changing," said Weisel.

Galaxy plans to attain the necessary permits to add about 20 outdoor full-service tables in the MetroCenter courtyard sometime this summer. The brew pub has live music every Thursday night at 9:30.

Tonight, the Falconers which combines Jimmyjohn McCabe of Yolk fame with Bess Greenberg and a new drummer.
