There will be a unique performance combining the pipe organ and drums this Sunday.

Theatre organist Nathan Avakian will be teaming up with the Binghamton High School Steel Drum Band for a show at the Broome County Forum.

Avakian says he was first captured by the organ when he was only four years old when he saw one at a restaurant in Oregon.

In addition to the joint performance, contemporary silent films will be shown above the musicians.

Avakian says the audience is in for a treat.

"It's going to be everything that you won't expect from an organ concert. The performance on July 20th will have all kinds of music from pop to Broadway to classical to jazz," said Avakian.

The performance will be this Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Forum in Binghamton.

Tickets for adults are $15; members of the Binghamton Theatre Organ Society are only $10. Students and children are only $5.

For more information, call the society's box office at 722-0020 from 1:30 to 6:30 daily.

The box office at the Forum opens two hours before showtime.
