Six-thousand people in Broome County found themselves in the dark, Friday morning.

Power was knocked out to some NYSEG customers in several municipalities including the Town of Maine and here in Johnson City. Police were directing traffic near the Oakdale Mall and Wegmans because traffic lights weren't on. Power to this part of J.C. came back at about 10:30. At this point, all power has been restored. A problem with a static wire in NYSEG"s Oakdale Substation caused the problem.
