BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - A popular venue in downtown Binghamton is open once again.
Parlor City Pub opened two weeks ago in the former Zona and Co Grille location.
Parlor City offers gastropub fare with upscale pub food ranging from fried pickles to a lamb burger to prime rib on Fridays and Saturdays, all made with fresh ingredients.
The decor is sleek, post-industrial with historic photos documenting Binghamton's history.
Executive Chef Sharon Warnock says many of the dishes are named after prominent figures from the city's past.
"We want to be proud of our city again. It used to be a hot destination for people to come at the turn of the century and I believe we're coming back and we're going to make the Parlor City a destination again," said Warnock.
The pub's kitchen is currently only open for dinner, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m Monday through Thursday, until 11 p.m on Fridays and Saturdays.
Parlor City Pub is closed on Sundays.
Warnock says the pub plans to add lunch in the Spring when it's warm enough to reopen the deck.
