Police: November 2016 Great Bend death ruled a homicide

GREAT BEND TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police are providing an update after the November 2016 death of a man in Susquehanna County.

Around 3 p.m. on November 21st, Pennsylvania State Police were dispatched to a house on Cal's Way in Great Bend Township for a report of a dead man.

Police say the homeowner, Calvin Fichter, 64, was discovered in the upstairs bedroom of his house.

They say there was no forced entry into the house, and that a handgun belonging to Fichter was missing.

An autopsy revealed that Fichter sustained 3 gunshot wounds to the head and neck area, and that his death was ruled a homicide.

Police say all callers remain anonymous, and could be eligible for a cash reward.
