Police looking for help identifying larceny suspect

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Vestal Police, Broome County Sheriff’s Office, Pennsylvania State Police – Carlisle, and the Taylor County Florida Sheriff’s Office are all attempting to identify the subject and vehicle pictured below. 

Timeline of events:

  • 4/3/18 – Taylor County Sheriff’s Office takes report of Florida license plate BVFL48 stolen overnight from a vehicle parked at the Hampton Inn – Perry, Florida.
  • 4/9/18 – PASP/Carlisle Station takes report of a stolen vehicle from behind the Walnut Bottom Diner in Carlisle, Pa. around 11:20am. Incident is caught on video. Male suspect checked several parked vehicles in the area before finding and stealing one with keys in it. 9 minutes later he walked back to retrieve the Xterra. Stolen vehicle was recovered nearby. Suspect vehicle is a grey or tan Nissan Xterra with the stolen Florida plate BVFL48 on the rear.

  • 4/10/18 – Vestal PD takes report of a smashed window/theft from vehicle that occurred around 5:00pm. Incident is caught on video. Male suspect checked the doors of every car in the rear lot before smashing victim’s window. Suspect and vehicle are the same from Carlisle, Pa. incident. 

Prying window behind Skylar Diner on 4/10/18

  • 4/10/18 – Broome County Sheriff’s Office takes larceny report from Sunoco Gas Station at 704 Old Front Street that occurred just before 7:00pm (2 hours after Vestal incident). Suspect went behind the counter and stole employee’s purse. Incident caught on video. Same suspect. Same vehicle.

  • 4/12/18 – Vestal PD takes report from Skylark Diner that the suspect returned and was found sitting in someone’s vehicle. He was confronted and fled prior to police arrival. Same suspect wearing the same clothes. Same vehicle still bearing a Florida plate on rear of car.
