Police: Binghamton man charged with shooting death of 22-year-old man

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - Police have made an arrest after a 22-year-old man was shot to death in Binghamton last month.

Binghamton Police charged Jihad Ray, 26, of Binghamton with murder in the 2nd degree.

Ray is accused of killing Brandon Hernandez, of Binghamton, after shooting him outside an after-hours club located on Orton Avenue around 5 a.m. on April 22nd.

Metro SWAT was used to execute a search warrant at Ray's Chamberlain Street residence on the east side of Binghamton around 3 p.m. on April 28th.

Police say Ray was taken into custody without incident.

He was arraigned in City Court and taken to the Broome County Jail.

Metro SWAT is made up of members from the Binghamton Police Department, Village of Johnson City Police Department and Town of Vestal Police Department. 

Binghamton Police Department was assisted by the Broome County District Attorney Office.
