The Annual Senior Picnic and Fun Fest hosted hundreds of senior county residents today at SUNY Broome.

The senior citizens took part in several activities including a Zumba demonstration, BINGO games, an accessibility design workshop, and live performances from New Appalachia, Dan Burdick and Rich Wilson.

Several local businesses set up tables in the Ice Center to advertise their companies.

Rita Fluharty, who is the Coordinator of Health and Wellness at the Broome County Office for Aging, says the picnic is a great way for seniors to find out what's going on in the area.

"I think people really like to be able to come together, see friends from other centers and other areas of the County they don't get to see all the time, come to see all the businesses that are here to showcase their products, they always love the music," said Flugarty.

Congressman Richard Hanna stopped by the picnic and visited with many of the seniors.

Sponsors for the event included Excellus and MVP Health Care.
