Owego restaurant celebrates first year of business

OWEGO, N.Y. - An Owego eatery is celebrating one year of serving up beer, burgers, and barbecue.

Bill's Restaurant located at 53 South Depot Street in Owego is nearing its one year anniversary since opening its doors September 8, of last year.

Formerly Grand Central Burgers, now owned by Bill Nadon, Bill's Restaurant offers American dishes including burgers, sandwiches, hand-cut steaks, steamed clams, and pasta.

Some of the specialties include the in-house smoked ribs and the Mac and Beast burger, served with a breaded patty of gooey mac and cheese.,

In his first year, Nadon has opened up the main dining area space and installed a house sound system and piano.

Nadon says everyone will find something to enjoy on the menu.

"You're going to find some things here that you won't find around town. A lot of people have not been here in a while. They haven't seen some of the changes on the inside to open it up. People will be surprised by the smaller menu. It's a two-page menu, but you'll find something that you like on there," said Nadon.

Nadon is looking to bring in more live music for his second year in business.

He's already signed some more bands to come play, and Bill's hosts open mic night on Wednesdays.

Bill's is also featuring the NFL Sunday ticket for the football season.
