One of Binghamton Zoo's twin red panda cubs dies

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - Just days after celebrating during a gender-reveal party, the Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park shared some sad news on Monday.

In a Facebook post, the Zoo says that the red panda known as Cub B died over the weekend.

They say she was seen by the Cornell Exotics Department mid-week after concerns arose with her breathing, and while a treatment plan was made, it was apparent by the weekend that her health was failing.

A decision was made to euthanize Cub B over the weekend.

Cub B and her twin were born on June 11th to 2nd-time mother, Mei-Li.

The Zoo was in the process of naming the cubs, and says it will continue the naming process for Cub A on Tuesday.
