Next year, 120 jobs will be lost in Chenango County when Norwich Aero moves its operations to Mexico. That announcement was made from its parent company, Esterline, which is based in Washington. Norwich Aero is scheduled to shutter its 57,000 square foot facility in the first quarter of 2015.

The company designs, makes and markets parts that aerospace companies use. Commerce Chenango says Aero was founded 30 years ago after a highly skilled workforce was left behind when Lewis Engineering consolidated its temperature sensor operations out of state.
