New mural offers inspiration to SUNY Broome business students

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - SUNY Broome Business students are seeing a moving, motivational message on their way to class.

Artists Jack Braunstein and Gene Czebiniak have created a mural on the first floor of the Business building at SUNY Broome.

The main wall is blanketed with four colors, blue, purple, green and teal, signifying the four schools in the program -- Business, Criminal Justice and Emergency Services, Hospitality, and Business Information Technology.

Also included are photos and panels that include inspirational quotes from Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, and Oprah Winfrey.

Braunstein says he tapped into his inner-educator when producing the piece.

"I was a teacher at one point. My purpose was to influence their ethics and morals. I feel these quotations address that dimension," said Braunstein.

Czebiniak arranged and painted the mural.

In addition to photos of students learning on campus, Czebiniak included images of professionals in the industry.

"We wanted to create a montage or collage of images in the background. They're subtle but still have a lot of energy and they pop a little bit. They're here to inspire the future for the students to see where their time here could lead," said Czebiniak.

In 2015, Braunstein and Czebiniak produced a mural at the SUNY Broome Student Center dining hall.

They hope to take on another project at SUNY Broome sometime in the future.
