Greek Peak Mountain Resort is reporting a very busy Presidents Week so far. The resort says its had its most snow in seven years. This past weekend, all trails were open and the parking lot was full.

The snowy winter coincides with the first season under new owners who have invested millions of dollars in better snowmaking equipment, a high-speed quad lift and the new Trax Pub and Grill. Operations Manager Rick Bunnell says the deep base built up means many more weeks of skiing.

"We'll be skiing until April here with the snow. It's going to be sunny. This is probably what most of the people wait for is the spring skiing," said Bunnell. "And we've got bumps, we've got three or four trails that have great bumps on them and great conditions."

The owners hope the larger crowds ramp up interest in time share sales at Hope lake Lodge. They've recently reduced prices for the quarter share ownership. Owners receive 13 weeks out of every year.

"Owners have the opportunity to come and personally use any of the weeks that they own. We can rent any of the time that they're not going to personally use," said director of sales Becky Darling. "And then they receive part of the revenue when we do that. And they can also trade and use other resorts through an affiliation that we have with Resorts Condominiums International."

Darling says the vast majority of owners are purchasing the shares to use for family outings rather than just as an investment. She touts the indoor water park, spa and outdoor adventure center as creating a year-round vacation destination. Darling says less than 100 shares are still available for purchase.
