ENDWELL, N.Y. - People driving along Route 17 will be forever reminded of the accomplishments of the Maine-Endwell Little League World Champions as they enter Endwell.
The New York State Department of Transportation has erected a new sign reading "Maine-Endwell: Home of the 2016 Little League World Champions."
The sign is posted just before the exit 69 ramp into Endwell.
Members of the team showed up for the unveiling in their "Be Legendary" t-shirts and posed for photos near the sign.
M-E Little League Champion Michael Mancini says the sign makes him dream about the future.
"When I saw it, I pictured myself in 10 or 12 years with a wife and kids and looking at it and telling my kids about what we did and seeing their faces," said Mancini.
The team thanked the DOT by presenting representatives with a signed baseball.
The M-E team will be honored tomorrow as they receive their World Series rings during the M-E Little League opening day ceremony.
