BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - America's biggest sporting event was celebrated Sunday all the way in the land down under.
Gordon and Allison McCann, who are from our area, moved their family to Kiama, Australia in 2014 as part of the Lockheed Martin MH-60 Romeo Helicopter Program.
The couple attended "Luna Bowl" a large-scale Super Bowl party sponsored by Pepsi held at Luna amusement park.
Due to the time difference, the party started at 10:00 a.m. on Monday in Australia's time.
The party included a marching band, which isn't common in Australia, and cheerleaders.
They served an American buffet which included a 24" hot dog, ribs, mac & cheese, jalapeno poppers, and Philly cheese steak sandwiches, which actually didn't include any cheese.
All of the profits generated from the party were donated to charity.
The McCann's two children, 17-year old Adam and 14-year old Kelsey did not attend because it took place during school hours.
The McCann's will move back to our area in 2019 when Gordon's work is complete.
