Students and faculty at Seton Catholic Central kicked off Lenten Season energetically today.

Everyone got a break from class as they filed into the auditorium for the services this afternoon. Bible readings from students and holy songs filled the air as teenagers and adults alike came to seek forgiveness for their sins.

Father John Donovan, pastor of St. James Church led the celebration. The Mass involves the preparation and distribution of the ashes and celebration of the Eucharist.

"It begins the season of Lent. A time of renewal, of repentance. A time of making a change in our lives. The word repent means to make a change and work toward the Easter season of celebrating the forgiveness of sins and the resurrection of Christ," said Donovan.

The Dance Ministry, a club at Seaton Catholic, danced and sang to start off the services. This group of inspired teens aim to keep spirits high during school events. According to Father Donovan, The Dance Ministry has become one of the most popular clubs Seton has to offer.
