Judge Lehman to Retire

- Binghamton City Court Judge Mary Anne Lehmann is retiring from the bench in April.

Lehmann was first elected to City Court in 1996 and was re-elected in 2006. Prior to City Court, Lehmann worked for the Broome County District Attorney for 13 years. 10 years ago, she founded the Domestic Violence Court, which has been recognized as one of the best practice courts in New York State. And she has taught fellow judges across the state on issues of domestic violence, firearms and orders of protection.

Mayor Rich David will make a temporary appointment to fill the vacancy. An election for a full 10-year term will take place in November.
