Home and Garden Show preview

- Binghamton (WIVT) - This is the weekend to get information and perhaps find a contractor for a home improvement project you've been thinking of.

The Southern Tier Home Builders and Remodelers Association Home and Garden Show takes place at the Events Center at Binghamton University.

Over 160 vendors fill the venue's floor for anyone seeking roofing, siding, plumbing, heating, painting, landscaping, windows or doors.

Real estate broker Jim Trevitt is President of STHBRA.

He said one improvement project a year, large or small, will help maintain and increase the value of your home.

"If you are thinking of some sort of a project for your home this year, this is the place to be this weekend. You can see them all in one spot. Even if you're just in the thinking stage, you have an opportunity to see some of the new products and services that are currently available on the market," said Trevitt.

The Home and Garden Show runs from 9 to 7 Saturday and 10 to 4 on Sunday.

Admission is $5, 17 and under are free.

And there's plenty of free parking.
