CANDOR, N.Y. - A massage therapist who was working in Ithaca has moved to Candor to relocate the business with new offerings.
Harmony Massage has moved to 130 Reservoir Hill Road, the home of massage therapist Elise Phillips.
Harmony has been in business for seven years and was located in Ithaca until the previous owner, Jennifer Whittaker, injured her shoulder and was unable to continue her career.
Phillips took over the business, moved to Candor and is offering yoga classes in addition to massage therapy.
Phillips says the yoga aspect is much-needed in the area.
"Nobody was teaching yoga here yet. So I thought that someone needs to offer yoga here in Candor. I think there is definitely a market for it and people seem to be excited about it so far," said Phillips.
Phillips is also trained to help people suffering from temporomandibular joint dysfunction, which causes pain and clicking in the jaw.
Group Yoga classes are held on Mondays at Handprints Massage and Wellness Center in Owego and on Tuesdays at Stormpeak CrossFit in Candor.
