The funeral service for a Binghamton teenager who was recently murdered was held at First Assembly of God this afternoon.

Hundreds of people attended to pay their respects to 19-year-old Scott Wright Jr.

He was shot in the abdomen last Friday night at Town and Country Apartments on Binghamton's Northside. He died from his injury early Monday morning.

Friends describe Wright as down-to-earth, funny, outgoing, and popular. He was a star football player and graduated last month.

Wright was planning to attend SUNY Broome, but had dreams of playing football at the University of Delaware.

A memorial fund has been set up to help pay for his funeral expenses. For more information go to the Scott Wright Memorial Fund page on Facebook.

A 21-year-old Binghamton man has been arrested and charged in Wright's death.
