The Rescue Mission will be hosting a Freeze Out 5K this Saturday. It will be held on SUNY Broome's campus. The run has a neon theme, so participants are asked to wear bright colored clothing.

In addition to the run there will be raffles, food, 98.1 The Hawk broadcasting live, and testimonials from Whitney Place residents will be shared. Whitney Place is the Rescue Mission's men's housing facility in Binghamton. The Mission works to help men rehabilitate their lives. Doug Wunder came to Whitney Place last June after struggling with drugs and alcohol.

"It has been beyond a blessing. You could argue that I wouldn't be here talking to you if this type of place wasn't here to help me. That being said, I've got almost eight months under my belt of being clean and sober and I truly think it's a responsibility and blessing that I can give back to someone who may be in the same position that I was in," said Rescue Mission resident Doug Wunder.

The run starts at 10 o'clock this Saturday. Registration is at 9. More information can be found at
