Former Congressional candidate convicted of plotting Islamberg attack sentenced

HANCOCK, N.Y. - The former Tennessee Congressional Candidate convicted of plotting to kill Muslims in Hancock has been sentenced.

65-year old Robert Doggart was sentenced to nearly 20 years in prison for plotting to attack the Muslim community of Islamberg, located near Hancock.

Last year, he was arrested after telling a confidential informant he was planning on attacking a school and mosque with explosives, snipers and M-4 rifles.

In February he was found guilty of four charges, although two were dropped due to insufficient evidence.
