BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The combination of warmer temperatures and ice could mean localized flooding around area rivers and streams.
The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for our area, including Broome, Tioga, Cortland, and Chenango Counties through Saturday night.
Broome County Sheriff Dave Harder says minor flooding is expected around rivers and streams.
Broome County Emergency Management will closely monitor the waterways for any ice jams or flooding.
Harder is encouraging people to not go near any ice jams or riverbanks.
