Italian night will take place at the Binghamton University Downtown Center on Washington St.

The featured performer will be Italian rock violinist Andrea DiCesare. He lives in Rome and has studied violin since he was 5-years-old.

He has also accompanied many Italian rock and pop stars as they have toured throughout Italy and even around the world.

B.U. Associate Professor of Italian, Dana Stewart, tells about DeCesare's latest venture.

"He has more recently launched his solo project where he uses technology like looping and other effects to make one violin sound like a whole rock band, accompanied by a drummer. It's a really unique sound," said Stewart.

Italian night begins at the UDC at 6 o'clock with performances by B.U. students and faculty. DiCesare's concert will go from 7:30 until 9 p.m.

He will also be performing at the Cyber Café West on Main St in Binghamton from 9 p.m. until midnight on Saturday.
