Congressman Richard Hanna announced a nearly $2 million federal loan for the City of Norwich to make upgrades to its water storage facilities.

Norwich also received a $750,000 grant through the United States Department of Agriculture for the project.

The funds will be used to demolish the current old steel water storage tank and valve vault, and replace them with new ones.

Work will also be done on an access road from Wheeler Avenue to the new tank.
