Electronic Music Played by Eric Ross at Tech Works

- A special electronic music performance was held at Tech Works Prototype Workshop in Binghamton Saturday afternoon.

Eric Ross and his ensemble performed. It featured theremins, which are electronic musical instruments that are controlled without physical contact. There were also guitars, bass, a lute and more. Ross has been a composer and performer for 40 years.

The group played some selections that people haven't heard before. Part one of the program was called the Legend of Orpheus.

"I got involved with the theremin in the '70's and in the '80's I met Clara Rockmore and Bob Moog and Professor Theremin himself and it inspired me to keep on working with the theremin as an instrument in new music, non-traditional sorts of music," said Ross.

If you missed today's concert you can get more information and electronic music at EricRoss.info. Ross lives in Binghamton.
