East Clinton Street Bridge in Binghamton closed to traffic until Sep. 1st

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - Starting Wednesday, the East Clinton Street Bridge will be closed to traffic.

As part of the ongoing bridge improvement project, the thoroughfare will be closed off to vehicles Wednesday through September 1st.

The $1.9 million project includes replacement of all expansion joints along with concrete and sidewalk repairs.

In addition, the decorative arches and lighting fixtures will also be spruced up.

A detour has been set up along Front and Water Streets, where people can cross in and out of downtown using the Court Street Bridge.

An estimated 20,000 vehicles cross the bridge on a daily basis.
