Dunkin Donuts is encouraging its customers to make a muscle and make a difference.

For a $1 donation, the shops will display a paper doughnut icon with the MDA logo and the name of the donor.

The campaign is taking place at Dunkin Donut restaurants across Upstate New York.

Last year, the chain raised over $94,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

The money goes toward efforts to find a cure for muscular dystrophy, ALS and related diseases.

The campaign runs through Sunday.
