The Doubletree hotel in downtown Binghamton is celebrating one year of being part of the Hilton family and the community.

This week it hosted a celebration that featured jazz music, cake, champagne and a scavenger hunt for prizes, including a stay at a Doubletree in New York City. General Manager Bud Nolan says the hotel and the Weissman family, which owns the Doubletree, wants to thank Greater Binghamton for its support.

Bud Nolan says, "It's really all about appreciation at this point, appreciation for the community and the amount of acceptance they've had for us, appreciation for the management company and the tools they've given us so this thing could happen, appreciation for the staff. The people have worked incredibly hard."

The Doubletree is also expanding its ballroom area so there will be more room for cocktail receptions and exhibitions. It's slated to be completed by the end of this month.
