BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - A man will serve 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to rape, says Broome County District Attorney Steve Cornwell.
Adam Crampton, 39, pleaded guilty to rape in the 1st degree, a class B felony, on Tuesday.
According to Crampton's guilty plea, he engaged in sexual intercourse with another person by forcible compulsion in the Village of Johnson City.
Cornwell says Crampton will receive 15 years in state prison and 15 years of parole.
“Those who commit violent sex crimes in Broome County, will be removed from society. Fighting for justice, for victims of sexual assault, is among the highest priorities of the District Attorney’s Office," said Cornwell in a written statement.
Crampton is scheduled to be sentenced on October 23rd.
