DA: Man indicted for predatory sexual assault, attempted rape of child

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - A Broome County Grand Jury has handed up an indictment of a man accused of committing sexual conduct against a child.

Broome County District Attorney Steve Cornwell says Joseph Lombardo, 36, has been indicted on the charges of Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child, a Class A-II Felony, and Attempted Rape, in the first degree, a Class C Felony.

Cornwell says it is alleged that Lombardo 'committed sexual conduct against a child, less than thirteen years old'.

He says the case was investigated by the Endicott Police Department and the Broome County D.A.'s office, and was presented directly to a grand jury.

The indictment was sealed until Wednesday in Broome County Court.
