Eleven miles of Binghamton roads will be milled and paved this year.

Some of them include Leroy Street, Grand Boulevard and Beethoven Street. That work will cost one point four million dollars.

Binghamton Mayor Rich David says the city has a four and a half million dollar street improvement plan this year, which includes that work. two point six million will be spent on a street reconstruction of part of Riverside Drive. five-hundred thousand dollars of preventative maintenance will also be done.

Mayor David says the city will begin cold asphalt recycling, which is where crews will reuse milled road for future paving projects. The recycled material costs about a third of the price of new asphalt.
