Citizen Preparedness Training

This Saturday there will be a Citizen Preparedness Training Program held at the Binghamton University Events Center.

It's part of a statewide effort launched by Governor Cuomo in response to recent natural disasters like Hurricane Sandy and Tropical Storm Lee. The New York National Guard along with other emergency response professionals promise to provide people with valuable information as well as an emergency safety kit including safety goggles, batteries, a flashlight and other items. The event starts at 10:00 am. Registration is required as space is limited. For more information and to register, go to prepare.ny.gov. State Republicans have criticized what they call the Cuomo administration's efforts to "crowd-build" these events by pressuring friends and family of state officials to attend.
