'Christmas Rocks' at New Life Ministries

A classic holiday performance infused with the glitz and glamour of the 1980's

ENDICOTT, N.Y. - A local church is celebrating the Christmas season with a classic holiday performance infused with the glitz and glamour of the 1980's.

New Life Ministries in Endicott is presenting it's 4th annual Christmas production on Friday December 15 and Saturday December 16.

This year's performance is Christmas Rocks: The Musical, an original production created by Dramatic Arts Director Leah McCoy and other members of the church.

It tells the Nativity story through a character named Roman who embarks on a journey to see if the baby born in Bethlehem is truly the Son of God.

While it features classic characters like shepherds and wise men, McCoy is using hits from the 80s to create an upbeat, empowering, and entertaining show.

"You'll be experiencing a lot of big hair, glitter and our cast will be singing some of the most iconic 1980's rock music.  It's going to be a lot of fun, it's a family friendly show, it's interactive and it's free.  Come and join us," said McCoy.

It features music from by Aerosmith, Whitesnake, and Bon Jovi, with the song's original lyrics worked into the storyline of the musical.

The event is free but New Life will be collecting donations for Mom's House.

Show times are Friday the 15th at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday the 16th at 6:07 p.m., the same time New Life typically holds its worship service.
