VESTAL, N.Y. - A Chick-fil-A restaurant could be opening on the Vestal Parkway according to a town official.
Vestal Supervisor John Schaffer told radio host Bob Joseph on WNBF’s “Binghamton Now” radio program this morning that a local developer is working with the Atlanta-based fast food chain to open a location sometime in 2019.
Schaffer says the developer is considering the corner of Jensen Road and the Parkway where the Broome County United Way currently has its headquarters.
The United Way has expressed in the past a desire to sell its valuable Parkway location and relocate elsewhere.
Chick-fil-A is a growing restaurant chain with a loyal fan base, known especially for its chicken sandwiches.
It’s also known for the religious beliefs of its ownership which is why the restaurants are closed on Sundays and Christmas Day.
