Organizers talked with members of Binghamton's Noon Rotary club today about what will happen. Teams will be collecting canned goods and then will stack them on March 23rd. They'll be on display for a week at the mall and then the food and funds will be donated to CHOW and the Food Bank of the Southern Tier.
"It is a unique way to raise money and bring awareness of hunger to our area. It not only raises the awareness of hunger, but gets people actively involved in participation and teams benefit, because it's a great team building opportunity," said organizer Susan Christensen.
The Broome Leadership Institute Alumni Association and Visions Federal Credit Union are putting the event on. For information on how to get involved, log on to FoodBankST.org.
