The municipality has been a member for more than 11 years. Supervisor Rose Sotak says the town is involved with peoples everyday life, including garbage pick-up, road paving projects, marriage licenses and offering summer programs for youth at its parks.
Sotak says Union is also working to rebuild its tax base, especially after the record flooding of 2011 wiped some properties.
She says it's also working to attract new businesses to the area through its economic development department.
On the lighter side, the town will again be hosting its annual July 4th extravaganza at Highland Park in Endwell.
"It's just a day for everybody to be there, you can swim, you can ride the carousel, you can play ball, you can walk through all the exhibits. We have a lot of vendors there. You can have any kind of food from our chicken barbecue to spiedies to barbecue pork, It's just a great day," said Sotak.
Fireworks will be set off once darkness falls.
