Business of the Week: Michelangelo's Pizzeria and Ristorante

- Binghamton (WIVT) - Michelangelo's Pizzeria and Ristorante is the Greater Binghamton Chamber Business of the Week.

It was opened in 2005 by Michael Hadlick and Angelo Belnome, hence the name.

The two men first met when Hadlick worked for Belnome at Villa Pizza in the Oakdale Mall in the 1980's.

Michelangelo's boasts a brisk takeout business, including catering orders, to go with its sit down Italian restaurant, full bar and delivery service.

Hadlick said the eatery is known for its chicken parm, gnocchi, New York City style pizza and garlic knots.

"It's great for families to come out. It's affordable. We give you great portion sizes. Most people take half their food with them because they're too full to eat it. And it's a nice thing for date night as well. You can take your date out, Mother's Day is a great day for us as well. So, it has a broad appeal," said Hadlick.

Hadlick said the restaurant was hard hit by flooding in 2006 and 2011, but that it allowed him to remodel and expand.

He hopes to one day add off-site catering to his operation.
