The non-profit organization provides services to people before, during and after unplanned pregnancies.
Life Choices offers free pregnancy tests, free ultrasounds and parenting classes. Those attending the parenting classes can earn points that can be redeemed in its baby store which stocks clothing, diapers and other infant items.
The Oak Street office across from Binghamton High School offers easy access to its base clientele of women and girls ages 15 to 24.
"Sometimes girls will come over on their lunch break and do a pregnancy test. It also gives us an opportunity to interact with students and talk to them before they find themselves in an unplanned pregnancy," said communications director Laura Brown. "We talk to them about setting up boundaries in their dating relationships and the decisions that they're making in those relationships."
Life Choices is not a religious organization although Brown says it does receive a lot of support from area churches. It can provide faith-based counseling to clients who request it.
Life Choices does not support abortions and it stresses abstinence as a form of birth control rather than contraceptives.
The organization recently opened a second location in Owego.
