Governor Andrew Cuomo's nominee for his second in command was in town last night.

Kathy Hochul was a guest speaker at the Broome County Democratic Picnic at En-joie Golf Course.

Hochul, who is from western New York, is an attorney and also served in Congress for a year and a half after winning a special election.

She says she's proud to be chosen to replace Lieutenant Governor Robert Duffy, who is stepping down from the job.

"Lieutenant Governor Duffy has done a phenomenal job and I'm looking forward to continuing the work that he has done, looking out for economic development. This is something I'm very passionate about. Everyone in New York State deserves the dignity of a good job and I want to keep fighting with the governor to bring businesses to our state," said Hochul.

State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli also spoke at the picnic.
