#BingItHome: Rumble Ponies hope to bring All-Star Game to Binghamton

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Rumble Ponies are calling on the community to bring the Eastern League All Star Game to the Parlor City.

On Friday, Owner John Hughes announced he has submitted a formal proposal to the Eastern League to host an upcoming All Star Game in Binghamton.

Hughes says the community can help secure the game if they take part in the campaign.

Fans are encouraged to use the hashtag on twitter "#BingItHome" and fans can "like" the Rumble Ponies announcement post on Facebook.

Hughes is also calling on fans to e-mail the Eastern League telling them to bring the game to Binghamton.

"This is a community campaign. The community will win this event with a strong showing. I have done all of the legwork in submitting the official package, but what I'm asking for today is the support from the community," said Hughes.

Hughes says the Eastern League was founded in Binghamton, but the All Star game has never been played here.

However, in 1994, The New York Mets organized an All Star Game that was played in town.

The New York Mets, Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo, State Senator Fred Akshar and Mayor Rich David have all supported the bid for Binghamton.
