Binghamton University is making a big effort to B- Healthy.

In recognition of National Nutrition Month, the university held it's 8th annual Health Fair in the East Gym. Sodexo partnered with BU Campus Rec for the event, in an effort to promote their B- Healthy initiative.

Alexa Schmidt is Sodexo's dietician. She says that she's seeing a positive reaction from the campus and community.

"It's really looking at overall health and wellness and I think people are getting excited on how you incorporate health and wellness into their life. It's not just nutrition, it's not just stress management, it's looking at sustainability and the whole gamut of health and wellness," said Schmidt.

The fair was free of charge to students and the community and included fitness classes, cooking demos, and vendors promoting their products and ideas. Kaitlin Vollinger, a senior at BU, gave out free samples from Enjoy Life Foods as well as promoted her nutrition blog.

"I really would hope that students would get just how to be more healthy and how to do what's best for their body. The things thats popular, the thing that all their friends are doing, is not necessarily the best for them. So I really like to promote individuality in health and wellness," said Voellinger.

You can find Voellinger's blog "Bowl Half Full" on for her recipes and ideas on how to live a healthier life.
