The Binghamton Senators are gearing up for the Calder Cup Playoffs. They secured the east division title with a 5 to 4 win over the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins Friday night.

The Sens will be playing the Penguins again in the first round. The five game series starts at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena this Friday night at 7 o'clock. There will also be a home game on Saturday night.

B-Sens Captain Mark Borowiecki says the team remembers losing to Wilkes-Barre in the first round last year. The Sens plan for a different outcome this time around.

"We're a pretty hard working group. We play with a lot of speed and we've got a younger group and a good attitude. Hopefully, we can go out there and show a little of that swagger that we've had all year," said Borowiecki.

Head Coach Luke Richardson says the two teams know each other well and expects it to be a hard-fought series.

"I think obviously getting off to a good start against them and getting pucks to the net, because they're a hard team in front of both nets, so keeping their chances down in front of our net and creating our chances and more importantly the second chances, getting bodies there, getting rebounds, I think will be a key in the series," said Richardson.

You can buy tickets to the upcoming home games by calling the Senators Executive Office at 722-7367 or by stopping by the arena.
