B.C. Corvettes is hosting a celebration for National Corvette Day at Tioga Downs this Sunday.

The club of about 150 Corvette owners promote and participate in car shows and donate to local charities.

The group invited eight other clubs from across the state to get together and celebrate the holiday with food, electronic gaming, and harness racing.

President Tom Dockstader, who bought his first Corvette in 1974, says the camaraderie of the group is what he loves most about the club.

"The more people to come, the more friends we make. That's the whole point of owning a Corvette. The motto of our club is 'We join for the club, we stay for the people'," said Dockstader.

Both the event and membership for the club are free.

The celebration will run from 10 until 5 on Sunday.
