Recently backers of both Traditions at the Glen in Union and Tioga Downs in Nichols have submitted newspaper editorials stating the case as to why each respective site would be best for the casino license that's scheduled to be awarded later this year.
The Walsh family, which owns Traditions, believes it has a huge advantage when it comes to economic impact, which is a large part of the evaluation process. By being situated at the heart of the Triple Cities means their project would serve to help a lot of existing nearby businesses.
They say their project is moving forward and they are getting ready for the permit process.
The final bids will be announced sometime in early June with a decision by the state coming this fall.
