Bastille Day festivities held in Binghamton

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - As the French celebrate their national holiday, Bastille Day festivities are being held in Binghamton as well.

The musical duo FrancoFeeling is performing a sort of doubleheader tomorrow evening in honor of French independence day.

Singer Tom Egan and guitarist Larry Lolli perform French tunes from the 1930's to today.

From 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., they'll perform outside on the Peacemakers Stage along the Chenango Riverwalk behind Boscov's as part of Live on the Waterfront.

The event, sponsored by the city's Department of Economic Development, also includes free beer tastings, food carts and activities.

"What is FrancoFeeling? It's a European style music and there we are in a European style cafe, de ras as they say in French. And this is what Binghamton has. Binghamton has these beautiful open spaces. It's just wonderful to tap into that energy and perform in the beautiful en plein air," said singer Tom Egan.

Then at 8 p.m., the party moves indoors to the neighboring Citrea Restaurant which is sponsoring a Bastille Day celebration of its own with FrancoFeeling performing until 10 p.m.
