A Binghamton attorney has been charged with grand larceny for allegedly over-billing the state for representing children in Family Court.

John Cadore is accused of bilking the system out of $11,000 he was not entitled to.

According to auditors, Cadore submitted bills to two government agencies, New York State Supreme Court's Attorney for Children program and the Broome County Assigned Counsel program.

In numerous cases, Cadore allegedly claimed to have worked more than 24 hours in a single day when combining the two programs.

He also allegedly double-billed for travel expenses when covering two separate cases in the same courthouse on the same day.
