The 6th annual Wendy's Walk for Kids takes place on Sunday following the last round of competition at the Dick's Sporting Goods Open.
Organizers hope to set records by attracting 1,000 walkers and raising a quarter of a million dollars.
The home-grown fundraiser benefits different local children's charities each year.
Event Coordinator Keli Cooper said it's grown into a day-long affair with its tent opening at 1 p.m.
"We have a family tent that is there. We have face painting and balloon animals and games. And the agencies are there. So, if you don't know about the children that are being helped by this, you can go to the agency table and they can tell you what they plan to do with the money," she said.
The recipients this year are the JCC, ACHIEVE, the Food Bank and, as always, the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.
The walk itself starts at 5 p.m.
Advance tickets are $15 for adults and are available at participating Wendy's restaurants. Day-of tickets are $20. Kids 17 and under are always free.
